Influence of integrated nutrient management practices on wheat productivity, and profitability
Abstract
A field experiment was carried out during the Rabi season of 2024-25 at the Crop Research Centre, Maharishi University of Information and Technology, Agricultural Research Farm, Lucknow on title Influence of Integrated Nutrient Management Practices on Wheat Productivity, and Profitability. The experiment consisted of eight treatments: T₁ - Control, T₂ - 120:60:40 kg NPK ha⁻¹ (RDF), T₃ - RDF + FYM @ 5 t ha⁻¹, T₄ - RDF + FYM @ 5 t ha⁻¹ + Azotobacter + PSB, T₅ - RDF + FYM @ 5 t ha⁻¹ + Azotobacter + PSB + Sulphur @ 35 kg ha⁻¹ (as gypsum), T₆ - 150:75:60 kg NPK ha⁻¹, T₇ - 150:75:60 kg NPK ha⁻¹ + FYM @ 5 t ha⁻¹, T₈ 150:75:60 kg NPK ha⁻¹ + FYM @ 5 t ha⁻¹ + Azotobacter + PSB + Sulphur @ 35 kg ha⁻¹ (as gypsum). The findings indicated that the highest grain yield (47.9 q ha⁻¹) was achieved under treatment T₈, which included 150:75:60 NPK kg ha⁻¹ along with FYM, Azotobacter, PSB, and Sulphur through gypsum. This treatment was statistically at par with T₇ (45.8 q ha⁻¹), where 150:75:60 NPK kg ha⁻¹, FYM, Azotobacter, and PSB were applied. Furthermore, T₈ recorded the maximum net monetary return (₹86,710 ha⁻¹), followed by T₇. Overall, the application of 150:75:60 NPK kg ha⁻¹ combined with FYM, biofertilizers (Azotobacter and PSB), and Sulphur (35 kg ha⁻¹ as gypsum) proved most effective for achieving higher productivity and profitability in wheat cultivation.
