Knowledge and adoption gap in cotton cultivation

Abstract

The present study conducted in Akola and Washim district in Maharashtra State. The exploratory research design was used for present study. The data were collected with the help of structured interview schedule & findings emerged out after statistical analysis are, majority of respondents belonged to middle age group (76.66%) were educated upto high school level (35.00%), belonged to small land holding category (29.17%) with annual income between of Rs.1,00,001 to Rs. 2,00,000 (33.34%), put up to 0.56 ha to 3.41 ha. area under cotton crop (61.66%), (66.67%) had medium sources of information, (48.33%) had medium category of social participation had medium level of innovativeness (72.50%) and risk orientation (46.67%) and majority of respondents had medium level of knowledge (82.50%), medium level of adoption (67.50%) and medium adoption gap (68.33%) was observed in cotton cultivation.
