Synthesis and Characterization of Alumina-titanium (Al₂O₃-TiO₂) nanomaterials

Abstract

Alumina-titanium (Al?O?-TiO?) is a very useful type of nanocomposite that can hold up-conversion rare-earth (UCRE) ions, which are used to make light-emitting nanomaterials or nanophosphors. These nanocomposites are getting a lot of attention because they have great thermal, chemical, and mechanical stability. Alumina (Al?O?) is a ceramic material that has high strength, toughness, and wear resistance. Titanium dioxide (TiO?) is a semiconductor with a wide bandgap that is used in many applications like photocatalysis, solar cells, hydrogen storage, and sensors. The aluminium powder was made by the solution gel method, and its structure was studied using powder X-ray diffraction (XRD).
