Role of Thyroidinum in the homeopathic management of hypothyroidism: A case report

Abstract

Hypothyroidism is a common endocrine disorder. The growing prevalence of hypothyroidism emerges as a public health challenge in our society. In conventional medicine, lifelong hormone replacement therapy is the mainstay of treatment. The therapeutic index of levothyroxine decreases the quality of life, causes long term complications in spite of normal biochemical range. However, homeopathy offers a holistic and individualized approach aimed at stimulating the body's self-regulatory mechanism. homeopathic management of hypothyroidism through constitutional prescribing, following administration of Thyroidinum, significant improvement occurred, including reduction of serum TSH level.
