Evolution and Classification of Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeias: Comparison of official Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeias with emphasis on HPI

International Journal of Homoeopathic Sciences · 2025 · Vol. 9(4) · pp. 709–712

Abstract

Homoeopathic pharmacopoeias are compilations that provide clear guidance on the preparation and quality assurance of homoeopathic medicines. These pharmacopoeias establish a standardised approach to ensure consistency and safety in the manufacture and use of homoeopathic medicines across different regions of various countries, e.g., HPUS, GHP, HPI, etc. Chemical, botanical, and biological representatives on these committees ensure that pharmacopoeias are scientifically sound and follow the current regulations. The development of homoeopathic pharmacopoeias is an indication of the commitment to the standardisation of homoeopathic products in facilitating and harmonising the preparation of homoeopathic medicines and enhancing public health safety.
