Influence of integrated nutrient management on growth and yield attributes of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Abstract

A field experiment entitled “Production of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) as Influenced by Integrated Nutrient Management” was carried out during 2024-25 in rabi season at the Agricultural Research Farm, School of Agricultural Sciences, Jaipur national University, Jaipur, Rajasthan. Soil of the experimental field was sandy in texture having pH 7.58, organic carbon (OC) (0.43%), available nutrient (nitrogen 217.30 kg ha-1; phosphorus 20.28 kg ha-1 and potassium 219.20 kg ha-1). The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with three replications. The field trial consisted 10 treatments combinations viz., (i) control, (ii) 50% RDF ha-1, (iii) 75% RDF ha-1,(iv) 100% RDF ha-1, (v) 75% RDF ha-1 + FYM @ 2.5 t ha-1, (vi) 75% RDF ha-1 + Vermicompost @ 2.5 t ha-1, (vii) 75% RDF ha-1 + FYM @ 2.5 t ha-1 + Vermicompost @ 2.5 t ha-1, (viii) 75% RDF ha-1 + Azotobactor @ 5 kg ha-1, (ix) 75% RDF ha-1 + PSB @ 5 kg ha-1 and (x) 75% RDF ha-1 + Azotobactor @ 5 kg ha-1 + PSB @ 5 kg ha-1. The result showed that the higher growth parameters viz., plant height, dry matter accumulation, number of leaves plant-1, number of tillers meter-1 row length; maximum yield attributes and yield viz., number of effective tillers meter-1 row length (101.53), spike length (10.32 cm), weight of ear (3.10 g), number of grains spike-1 (57.60), test weight (48.30g), grain yield (3380 kg ha-1), straw yield (5280 kg ha-1) and biological yield (8660 kg ha-1) of wheat recorded with application of 75% RDF ha-1 + FYM @ 2.5 t ha-1 + Vermicompost @ 2.5 t ha-1 and followed by 100% RDF ha-1.
