Profitability analysis of steel authority of India limited

Abstract
This paper examines the profitability of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) using financial ratio analysis and trend assessment for recent years. Using company disclosures and published financial results, we analyze margins, earnings trends, and key drivers that influenced profitability — including inventory cost pressures and trade-protection measures. The study provides interpretations, identifies strengths and weaknesses, and offers practical recommendations for enhancing profitability and operational efficiency.
