Paediatric premature greying of hair: Role of homoeopathy: A case report

Abstract

Greying of hair with aging, regardless of race or gender bias is a physiological phenomenon. It is considered premature when it is seen in people below the age of 20- 25 years, based on their race and ethnicity. Certain reversible and irreversible causes are responsible premature loss of hair pigment, although the exact pathology is not understood. Premature greying of hair is seen to have effects on person’s social life, by affecting their self-esteem. There are issues with cultural adjustments as well. Case summary: A case of premature greying of hair in 5 years old, male child. The patient had progressive thinning and greying of hair. The homoeopathic remedy Natrum muraticum was given on the basis of totality of symptoms. The thinning was reduced and the normal hair pigmentation was regained with treatment in the period of about seven months only.
