Analysis of condition factor and length-weight relationship of the ribbonfish Lepturacanthus savala (Cuvier, 1829) and Trichurus lepturus (Linnaeus, 1758) off Veraval Coast

International Journal of Advanced Academic Studies · 2024 · Vol. 6(2) · pp. 93–96

Abstract

The Landing of ribbonfish is formed by Trichurus lepturus (Linnaeus, 1758) and Lepturacanthus savala (Cuvier, 1829) along with the other co-existing ribbon fish species. The landings mainly contributed by fishing gears are trawl net and gill net at Veraval fishing harbour. Values of length-weight relationship shows length and weight are positively correlated. Value of condition factor for male and female shows effect of fecundity on the weight of the species.
