Effect of soil conditioners along with different organic sources on nutrient availability in soil and uptake of nutrients by Kharif groundnut on entisol
Abstract
The present investigation was undertaken to study the “Effect of soil conditioner along with different organic sources on nutrient availability in soil and uptake of nutrients by groundnut”. The field experiment was conducted at the Post Graduate Institute, Research Farm of the Department of Soil Science, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, in kharif 2024.The experiment was laid out in a randomized block design with ten treatments with three replications. The treatments comprised of T1- Control (RDF), T2-GRDF (25:50:00 kg ha-1 N:P2O5:K2O + 5 t FYM ha-1)+ 400 kg ha-1 gypsum, T3-RDF + Phosphogypsum @ 400 kg ha-1 + FYM @ 5 t ha-1,T4- RDF + Phosphogypsum @ 400 kg ha-1 + PROM @ 500 kg ha-1, T5- RDF + Phosphogypsum @ 400 kg ha-1 + Poultry Manure @ 2 t ha-1, T6- RDF + Phosphogypsum @ 400 kg ha-1 + Press Mud Compost @ 2 t ha-1, T7- RDF + Elemental Sulphur @ 40 kg ha-1 + FYM @ 5 t ha-1, T8- RDF + Elemental Sulphur @ 40 kg ha-1 + PROM @ 500 kg ha-1,T9-RDF + Elemental Sulphur @ 40 kg ha-1 + Poultry Manure @ 2 t ha-1, T10-RDF + Elemental Sulphur @ 40 kg ha-1 + Press Mud Compost @ 2 t ha-1. Gypsum, Phosphogypsum and Elemental Sulphur were mixed with different organic sources and applied 50% in soil at the time of sowing and the remaining 50% at peg formation (35 DAS). As regards significantly the highest available phosphorus (16.22 kg ha-1), available secondary nutrients-exchangeable calcium, exchangeable magnesium (31.60 cmol (p+) kg-1 and 16.2 cmol (p+) kg-1 respectively) were recorded in the treatment T4 - RDF + Phosphogypsum @ 400 kg ha-1 + PROM @ 500 kg ha-1. The significantly higher available sulphur in soil (14.52 mg kg-1) in soil was observed in treatment T10-RDF + Elemental Sulphur @ 40 kg ha-1 + Press Mud Compost @ 2 t ha-1. The significantly highest total uptake of N, P and K were found in treatment T2 GRDF (25:50:00 kg ha-1 N:P2O5:K2O + 5 t FYM ha-1) + 400 kg ha-1 gypsum (219.45, 26.43, 73.35 kg ha-1, respectively). The significantly highest total uptake of secondary nutrients Ca, Mg and S were found in treatment T2 GRDF (25:50:00 kg ha-1 N:P2O5:K2O + 5 t FYM ha-1) + 400 kg ha-1 gypsum (60.63, 25.70 and 16.82 kg ha-1, respectively).
