Development and evaluation of a herbal moisturizer containing Isabgol seed gel and lemon peel powder
Abstract
Objective: Create a natural moisturizer combining Isabgol gel and Lemon peel powder, enriched with almond oil, Shea butter, and aloe vera gel. Methods: Formulated oil-in-water creams; assessed pH, viscosity, spreadability, homogeneity, acid value, wash ability, and stability (room temperature and accelerated) plus skin irritancy via dermatological patch tests. Results: Optimal pH (5-6), moderate viscosity (~3,177 cP), high spreadability (187.5 g· cm/sec), low acid value (6.71 mg KOH/g), good wash ability, stable physical/chemical profile, non-irritant in all subjects. Conclusion: The combination provided effective hydration, gentle exfoliation, skin brightening, and overall skin health improvements with safe, non-toxic formulation.
