Effect of integrated nutrient management practices on growth, yield and quality of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merril) in a vertisol of Vidisha district (M.P.)
Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during rainy (kharif) season of 2022 at the College of Agriculture, Ganjbasoda, (M.P), to study the effect of Integrated Nutrient Management practices on growth, yield and quality of Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merril). The experiment consisted of eight treatments viz. T1 – control, T2 – 50% RDF, T3 – 75% RDF, T4 – 100% RDF, T5 – 50% RDF + FYM @5t ha-1 T6 – 75% RDF + FYM @5t ha-I, T7 – 50% RDF + Vermicompost @2.5 t ha-I, T8 – 75% RDF + Vermicompost @2.5 t ha-I with 3 replications in a randomized block design. Application of T8 – 75% RDF + Vermicompost @2.5 t ha-I significantly enhanced plant growth, yield attributes and quality of soybean.Treatment T4 (100% RDF) recorded the highest yield of 1809 kg ha-I for seed and 2785 kg ha-I for stover, which were at par with values obtained in treatment T8 (75% RDF + Vermicompost @2.5 t ha-I ) with yields of 1762 kg ha-I for seed and 2698 kg ha-I for stover.Furthermore, treatments combining organic and inorganic fertilizers exhibited more significant results compared to treatments with only inorganic fertilizers.
