Assessment of macronutrients status and nutrient indexing of PDKV adopted Muradpur model village in Buldhana District

Abstract

In this present investigation, we aimed to assess the soil fertility status in the Muradpur model village adopted by Dr PDKV Akola. Total village area was divided into different blocks and from each block soil sample were collected. The blocks are as A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H and total 84 soil samples are collected from village. Each sampling location was accurately marked using GPS technology and analyzed for chemical properties and available nutrient status of soil. The result revealed that soils of Muradpur village in Buldhana district indicating a neutral to slightly alkaline classification and free from soluble salt hazards. Soil organic carbon was in ranged from 2.00 to 7.10 g kg⁻¹with average mean of 4.71 g kg⁻¹ classifying the soils as low to moderately high in organic carbon content.Whereas nutrient status of available nitrogen were ranged from 100.23-388.86 kgha-1 with average mean of 222.29 kgha-1 classifying under very low to low in nitrogen with NIV 1.01.The available phosphorous was low to moderately high category range from 9.32-31.49 kgha-1 with average mean 19.33 kgha-1 and NIV 1.62.The available potassium was in moderately high to very high category ranged from 189.81-596.35 kgha-1 with mean 400.12 kgha-1 and 2.88 NIV. The nutrient status for available sulphur was low to moderately high ranged from 6.23-22.60 mgkg-1 with mean 15.47 mgkg-1 having 1.78 NIV.
