Case report: Hidradenitis suppurativa in association with pilonidal sinus treated according to the law of similars

Abstract

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is inflamed skin lesions and scars that occur in apocrine-gland rich areas axillae, inframammary folds, and groin. lesions are chronic with regular relapses, skin changes include painful nodules, abscesses, tunnelling, comedones and scars; lesions are chronic and recur frequently. The risk of hidradenitis suppurativa and pilonidal sinus are increased by genetic, familial, and obesity-related factors. The most prevalent age for affection is in the early 20s. Pilonidal sinus (PNS) occurs in natal cleft and can cause discomfort for thousands of young people (mostly men) annually. The incidence of the disease is to be 26 per 100,000 people. It occurs more often in men than in women. In the study found that Pilonidal sinus disease was present in 32.6% (269/839) of the patients and was associated with an early debut of hidradenitis suppurativa, a higher Hurley stage, inflammatory phenotype and a greater number of fistulas and perianal involvement, Pilonidal sinus disease is a frequent comorbidity and risk marker for hidradenitis suppurativa disease severity. This case report describes a 27-year-old man with Hidradenitis Suppurativa Association with pilonidal sinus Witnessed Recovery with Deeper Understanding of Lycopodium as A Constitutional Remedy.
