A review: Role of inorganic fertilizers on French Bean
Abstract
The French bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), sometimes referred to rajmash, haricot bean, kidney bean, common bean, snap bean, or navy bean, is profitable vegetables farmed in India in terms of commerce. It is prized for its seeds, which contain 23% protein. Because of their nutritional qualities, French beans are often referred to as super food, meat of the poor, and grain of hope. Green leaves and fresh pods are utilized as vegetables. Dry beans must be cooked and soaked in water to eliminate their anti-metabolites. A significant and extremely lucrative vegetable crop in India's northeastern hill region is the French bean. Among the several Kharif pulses and vegetable crops cultivated in India's temperate hills, it holds a significant place. The region's growing need for green vegetables will be satisfied by the French bean's increased output. With guaranteed irrigation, this crop is primarily farmed in the winter months in Odisha. Overall, there is an urgent need to boost productivity using higher-quality pods. Therefore, appropriate production technologies are necessary to accomplish the objective. Nutrient management is one of the most crucial production technologies for this crop.
