Economics of soybean seed production in Akola district of Maharashtra

Abstract
Present study was undertaken in Barshitakli and Patur tehsils of Akola district. Total 120 farmers were selected for the present study. The main aim of the study was to estimate the cost required for cultivation of soybean seed on per hectare basis. The standard cost concepts i.e. cost A1, cost A2, cost B1, cost B2, cost C1, cost C2 and cost C3 were used in present study. Per hectare cost of cultivation of soybean seed at cost ‘C3’ was found to ₹ 80654.77. The Benefit:cost (B:C) ratio is 1:1.78.
