Evaluation of maize hybrids (Zea mays L.) for grain yield stability in eastern UP
Abstract
Stable performance of maize hybrids at a specific growing region is critical for obtaining high and stable yield. The objectives of this study was to evaluate grain yield stability of four maize hybrids viz Shriram 9701, Shriram 9700, Shriram 9865, including one check hybrid Eagle 21 were tested with the recommended Agronomic practices The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with four replications. at Crop Research Station, Bahraich, UP (ANDUA&T Kumarganj, Ayodhya, UP, India) during the rainy season of 2023 showed that Shriram hybrid 9701 was found good in terms of yield and other characters among the tested hybrids, however it was at par with Shriram 9865.
