Modulation of greengram [Vigna radiata L.] growth traits through integrated nutrient strategies

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at the Agricultural Experimental Farm of Calcutta University, Baruipur, 24 Parganas (South), West Bengal to assess the modulation of Greengram Growth Traits through Integrated Nutrient Strategies in slightly acidic clay loam soil of West Bengal. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design replicated thrice with seven treatments using the greengram variety Samrat. The plant growth parameters were taken at 30, 45 and 60 days after sowing and dry weight was taken at harvest. The various INM treatments imposed in the study included T1 - Control, T2- FYM (Farm Yard Manure)@10t/ ha+ Rhizobium, T3- 100% RDF (Recommended dose of Fertilizer) + Rhizobium, T4- 50% RDF + Rhizobium, T5- 50%RDF + FYM@10 t/ha + Rhizobium, T6- 100% RDF + FYM@10 t/ha + Rhizobium, T7- 50% RDF +FYM@10t/ha. The results indicated that integrated application of 100% RDF + FYM@10t/ha + Rhizobium was significantly superior than the other treatments followed by T5 and T3.
