Visual focus and coordination and their impact on high-flying basketball among specialized school players in Muthanna Governorate

Abstract

The current research aims to develop tests to measure visual concentration, eye-hand coordination, and basketball shooting accuracy. These tests are applied to players at the Specialized Basketball School in Muthanna Governorate. The goal is to identify the correlational relationships and influence between visual concentration and coordination when dribbling. To achieve this goal, the researcher utilized a descriptive approach, as well as survey and correlational studies, as they are appropriate for the nature of the research problem. The research population is represented by (25) players at the Specialized Basketball School in Muthanna Governorate for the 2024-2025 sports season. After the tests were ready for application following the pilot experiment and ensuring the statistical validity of the tests, the researcher began implementing the main experiment on the research sample, which numbered (25) players from the Specialized Basketball School, on February 14, 2025. After applying the tests, the researcher was able to obtain the results. He then used the statistical program SPSS to analyze the data and obtain the results. Based on this, the researcher concluded that visual focus and eye-hand coordination play a significant and effective role in influencing basketball dribbling, as the results revealed significant correlations and significant influence.
