Nano DAP-driven enhancement in growth, yield, and profitability of coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.)
Abstract
A field trial titled “Nano DAP-Driven Enhancement in Growth, Yield, and Profitability of Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.)” was undertaken during the Rabi season of 2023-24 on medium black calcareous soil (pH 8.18, EC 0.42 dS/m) at the Instructional Farm, Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture, Junagadh Agricultural University, Gujarat. The experiment followed a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications. Results demonstrated that the treatment comprising 75% recommended dose of fertilizers (RDF) along with nano DAP foliar spray @ 4 ml/L applied twice (at 20-25 and 40-45 days after sowing) significantly enhanced various growth traits including plant height at 30, 60 DAS, and harvest, as well as the number of primary, secondary, and tertiary branches per plant at harvest. It also improved yield attributes such as umbels per plant, umbellets per umbel, grain and straw yield. In terms of economics, the highest net return (₹96,485/ha) was observed in this treatment (T9), while the highest benefit-cost ratio (3.11) was noted in the treatment involving 75% RDF + nano DAP @ 2 ml/L (T7), closely followed by T9.
