Effect of Panchagavya and Jeevamrut on crop growth and productivity of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in sandy loam soil

Abstract

To investigate the impact of Panchagavya and Jeevamrut on the growth and productivity of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), a field experiment was carried out during Rabi season 2024–2025 at the Research Farm, Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, Mewar University, Chittorgarh (Rajasthan). Ten treatments with three replications were included in the randomised block design experiment. According to the results, when Panchagavya (4% foliar spray) and Jeevamrut (500 liters/ha with irrigation) were applied together at 30 and 45 DAS (T₁₀), growth parameters like plant population, plant height, number of effective ears per spike, number of grains per spike, grain yield, straw yield, and biological yield were all significantly improved when compared to the control. Treatments T₈ and T₉, which involved single irrigations, also performed well and were statistically at par with T₁₀. The study confirmed that integrating Panchagavya and Jeevamrut with proper scheduling enhances wheat growth and productivity under field conditions in South-eastern Rajasthan.
