Effect of different phosphatic nutrient levels and sources on growth and yield of transplanted rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2024 at Research cum Instructional Farm, SG College of Agriculture and Research Station, Jagdalpur, to evaluate the Influence of various phosphatic nutrient sources on growth and yield of transplanted rice (Oryza sativa L.) cv. Vikram TCR. Factorial experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design involving four levels of phosphorus viz., control, 50 per cent RDP, 100 per cent RDP and 150 per cent RDP and three Sources of Phosphatic Nutrients i.e. PSB, Nano DAP and PSB + Nano DAP replicated thrice. Increase in the levels of phosphorus application upto 150 per cent RDP (90 kg P2O5 ha-1) significantly the highest growth characteristics viz., No. of tiller (13.80 hill-1) and leaf area index (3.27), yield attribute and yield included panicle length (25.77 cm), grain yield (60.30 q ha-1), straw yields (71.98 q ha-1) and economics indicated the B: C ratio (2.97). Sources of phosphatic nutrient apply combined use of PSB + Nano DAP proved superior to PSB alone and Nano DAP alone. The highest growth parameters viz., no. of tiller (11.50 hill-1) and leaf area index (2.50), yield attribute and yield included panicle length (22.62 cm), grain yield (53.13 q ha-1), straw yields (65.00 q ha-1) and B: C ratio was (2.75) recorded under PSB + Nano DAP combination.
