Effect of Nano-N and Nano-DAP on growth and yield of little millet (Panicum sumatrense L.) under upland rainfed condition

Abstract

The experiment was carried out during the Kharif season of 2024 at the Entisols of the New Upland Research cum Instructional Farm, Lamker, which is affiliated with S. G. College of Agriculture and Research Station, Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, India. The focus of the experiment was on the Effect of Nano-N and Nano-DAP on the Growth and Yield of Little Millet (Panicum sumatrense L.) under Upland Rainfed Conditions. It was organized using a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications and included fifteen treatments. The results of the experiment indicated that among all treatments, the treatment T14 (NPK+ Nano-N and Nano-DAP) for foliar application of a 0.4% nano fertilizer solution exhibited significantly greater plant height, number of tillers per plant, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, and test weight. The highest yield was observed in treatment T14 (NPK+ Nano-N and Nano-DAP) for the foliar spray of the 0.4% nano fertilizer, surpassing all other treatments, followed by treatment T13 (NPK+ Nano-DAP). Additionally, the highest benefit-cost ratio was recorded in treatment T12 (NPK+ Nano-N), followed by treatment T14 (NPK+ Nano-N and Nano-DAP).
