Right lower calyceal diverticulum calculi: A case report

Abstract

A 27-year-old male presented with right flank pain for one month. Clinical evaluation and laboratory investigations were largely unremarkable, and contrast enhanced computed tomography (CECT) of the kidneys, ureters, and bladder (KUB) revealed a right mid-ureteric calculus along with a calculus within a right lower calyceal diverticulum. Further we Do retrograde pyelogram confirmed the diagnosis. Initial management involved URETEROSCOPY+RGP and Rt DJ stent placement. Definitive treatment was performed via mini perc percutaneous nephrolithotomy (MINI PERC PCNL) using an 18 Fr mini percutaneous tract with infundibular dilatation. The stone was successfully fragmented using pneumatic lithotripsy/Laser and fragments were cleared using suction, this case highlights the effectiveness of PCNL in the management of symptomatic calyceal diverticular calculi, especially when conventional treatments may be limited by anatomical considerations.
