Formulation and evaluation of Tamsulosin HCL loaded nanofiber by electrospinning method
Abstract
The present study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of Tamsulosin HCL-loaded nanofibers using the electrospinning method. Tamsulosin HCL, an alpha-1A and alpha-1D adrenoceptor antagonist, is primarily used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This research aims to enhance the bioavailability and solubility of Tamsulosin HCL through nanofiber formulation. Zein and PVPK 90 polymers were employed in the preparation of the nanofibers. The optimized formulation was evaluated using various techniques, including FTIR, DSC, XRD, SEM, and drug release studies. Results indicated a significant improvement in drug release and solubility compared to the pure drug.
