Effect of nutrient management of productivity of sesame (Sesamum indicum L.)

Abstract

The field trial was carried out at Research farm of Suresh Gyan Vihar College, Jagatpura (Jaipur) to assess the impact of nutrient management on sesame crop. The explore was laid out in randomized block design utilizing ten treatments (T0- Control, T1- 50% RDF, T2-75% RDF, T3-100% RDF, T4-Liquid Azotobacter, T5-Liquid PSB, T6-Liquid Azotobacter + PSB, T7-50% RDF + Liquid Azotobacter, T8-50% RDF + Liquid PSB and T9-50% RDF + Liquid Azotobacter + PSB) with three replications. The result revealed that application of 100% RDF considerably improved the growth parameters (plant height, DMA, branches/plant and LAI), yield attributes (capsules/plant, seeds/capsule and test weight) and yields (seed-870, stalk 1902 and 2773 kg/ha) of sesame and it was recommended for higher productivity of crop under semi arid conditions.
