The identification of synchronous and Metachronous bone metastasis in early-onset colorectal cancer: A critical early strategy for diagnosis

Abstract

Because of its distinct biological and clinical features, early-onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC) has recently seen a meteoric rise in incidence and has attracted a great deal of public attention. Nevertheless, there has been a notable uptick in the number of recommendations concerning prognostic risk factors and long-term survival prediction for postoperative EOCRC patients. This group includes patients with colorectal cancer who are younger than 50 years old. The 5-year survival rate is poor, the disease is usually only discovered when it's already progressed, and the incidence of bone metastasis (BM) from colorectal cancer (CRC) has been on the rise recently. Recognising tumour and clinical characteristics linked to synchronous BM will considerably facilitate the early identification of synchronous BM in patients recently diagnosed with CRC.
