Integrated management of false SMUT of rice in field conditions by using different chemicals, antagonists, systemic acquired resistance (SAR) and plant growth promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR)
Abstract
Integrated disease management is main holistic approach for disease management in agriculture. Rice is the major foods crop in world. No single meal was completed without rice in Asia. Through rice were grown in all over tropical Asia especially in India who contributes 25% of its production. The false smut of rice became major disease in rice from last ten to twenty years due to change in climatic scenario, cultivation of high yielding rice cultivars, and judicious use of fertilizers with monoculture and relay cropping of rice in every agro climatic zone of India. So the experiment was conducted at HMRS, Tal. Waghai, Dist. The Dangs, NAU, Navsari during year 2023 and 2024 with eight different fungicides and chemicals with 2 bio fertilizers and one control. The treatment T3 (trifloxystrobin 25% WG+ tebuconazole 50%)was found to be significantly superior and recorded minimum percent disease incidence in the year 2023, 2024 and pooled as 3.42%, 3.20% and 3.31% as compared to control treatment T9 (11.16,10.33 and 11.02%) PDI. The next best treatment was T1 (propiconazole 25 EC) at 3.71%, 3.70% and 3.70% PDI, respectively. In grain yield parameter treatment T3 (trifloxystrobin 25% WG+ tebuconazole 50%) was found to be significantly superior grain yield (4787 kg/ha,5578 kg/ha and 5183.50 kg/ha), respectively during research duration 2023,2024 and pooled, when compared to control treatment T9 (3462 kg/ha,3578 kg/ha and 3520.41 kg/ha).The treatment T1 (propiconazole 25 EC) with 4154.00 kg/ha,5071 kg/ha and 4642 kg/ha, respectively were found at par with treatment T3. In case of straw yield treatment T6 (Potassium silicate) was found significantly superior (7285 kg/ha, 7904 kg/ha and 7595. 02 kg/ha) when compared to the control T9 (5035 kg/ha, 5567 kg/ha and 5301.30 kg/ha).The treatment T3 (trifloxystrobin 25% WG+ tebuconazole 50%) at 6969 kg/ha, 7298 kg/ha and 7133.92 kg/ha straw yield were found at par with treatment T6. In case of thousand grain weight (g) treatment T3 (trifloxystrobin 25% WG+ tebuconazole 50%)was found significantly superior for thousand grain weight (17.63g,16.88 g and 18.26 g) as compared to control, T9 (14.70,15.53 and 15.12 g),respectively. The above combi fungicides play important role in management of false smut of rice with increase in yield parameters by enhancing stress management qualities in rice.
