Individualized homeopathic treatment of common warts: A case series

International Journal of Homoeopathic Sciences · 2025 · Vol. 9(3) · pp. 160–166

Abstract

Common warts (verruca vulgaris) are benign cutaneous lesions due to infection with the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). They frequently occur in both children and adults and can lead to cosmetic and psychologic distress. Standard treatments may be painful and of uncertain efficacy, prompting increased interest in alternative treatment options. This case series presents the outcomes of four individuals treated with individualized homeopathic medicines, guided by holistic and maismatic approach. the case includes a 54-year-old man with clustered facial warts treated effectively with Thuja occidentalis, a 14 year old girl with hand and foot warts, emotional sensitivity and phobias, treated with Natrum Muriaticum, a 9 year old boy with finger warts treated with Dulcamara, and an 11-year-old boy with multiple scalp warts managed with Medorrhinum. Each remedy was selected after a comprehensive evaluation of physical symptoms and mental emotional characteristics. All patients experienced complete clearance of warts within weeks to a few months, without any side effects or recurrence during long-term follow-up. These findings suggest that individualized homeopathy may offer a safe, effective and personalized alternative for manging common warts, addressing both visible symptoms and the deeper constitutional imbalance.
