Effect of sulphur and gibberellic acid on yield and yield attributes of soybean (Glycine max L.)

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during the kharif season of 2024 at the Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy to evaluate the effect of Sulphur and gibberellic acid on growth and yield of soybean. The results revealed that the application of Sulphur 20 Kg/ha along with gibberellic acid 75ppm foliar spray at 25 and 40 DAS (Treatment 4) significantly enhanced the yield parameters. Highest pods per plant, seed per pod, seed index, seed yield and harvest index were recorded in Treatment 4, making it the most profitable treatment. Thus, the application of Sulphur 20 Kg/ha along with gibberellic acid 75ppm foliar spray at 25 and 40 DAS proved to be the best combination for achieving higher yield in soybean cultivation.
