Comprehensive synthesis of anti-inflammatory and antifilarial activity in the use of Nyctanthes arbor-tristis (Night-blooming jasmine)

Abstract

Night-blooming jasmine, scientifically known as Cestrum nocturnum, has been extensively studied for its remarkable medicinal properties. This plant extract has shown great potential in the synthesis of an ointment that possesses both anti-inflammatory and antifilarial properties. The present Research aims to perform a detailed compilation of work done on this plant mainly as a source of Anty-inflammatory and antifilarial agent as well as various pharmacological properties from 1987 to till date. Agents: A Review of Chemical Structures and Biological Activities In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the development of novel anti-inflammatory and antifilarial agents due to the increasing prevalence of inflammatory diseases and filarial infections. Researchers have been actively exploring various chemical structures and their corresponding biological activities to identify potential candidates for drug development. Anti-inflammatory agents play a crucial role in managing inflammation-related disorders such as arthritis, asthma, and inflammatory bowel disease. These agents primarily target key enzymes and signalling pathways. The comprehensive synthesis of this ointment involves the extraction of bioactive compounds from night-blooming jasmine and their incorporation into a suitable base to maximize their therapeutic effects. The worm Brugia malayi causes the crippling parasitic illness lymphatic filariasis, which affects the human lymphatic system. The anti-filarial medications that are now on the market only work against the parasite's larval stages. There are currently no effective medications for treating filarial infections in humans. Regarding this, the lysine biosynthesis pathway of the Wolbachia endosymbiont Brugia malayi contains aspartate semialdehyde dehydrogenase (ASDase), which provides an appealing therapeutic target for the creation of new anti-filarial drugs [1] (The Estimation of Raltigravir in Tablet dosage form by RP-HPLC.
