An ayurvedic management of Kaphaj Kasa by Rasnadi Yog: A case study
Abstract
Children are more prone to diseases due to low immunity and less adaptability against environmental exposure. They are specifically more prone to respiratory infections in the form of cough. Kasa is a disease having its predominant manifestations in Pranavaha srotas, Kaphaj Kasa is one of them. Kasa occurs when apana vayu is obstructed resulting in an increase in upward motion. Vitiation of apan vayu with udana vayu propels the air upwards and then out of the body. Though it is very common disease if not properly managed or left untreated it can lead to serious complications like pneumonia, therefore timely management is necessary. In this article we are refering to a 6 yrs old male child, who experienced symptoms like, kaphanishthivan (cough expectoration), mandagni (loss of appetite) and pinasa (nasal discharge) since last 4 days, diagnosed as Kaphaja Kasa and Rasnadi yog was given for 7 days and child showed impressive results.
