Comparative study of the effects of breathing techniques in pranayama and swimming on the human body

Ashish PandeyAmit PandeyAarti Sharma

Abstract

This research aims to explore and compare the physiological, psychological, and respiratory benefits of breathing techniques used in Pranayama, a yogic practice, and those developed through swimming, a cardiovascular and full-body exercise. Both disciplines involve breath control, yet differ in methodology, intensity, and overall impact on the human body. This comparative study draws on existing scientific literature, observational insights, and biomedical data to highlight the unique and overlapping effects of both practices.
