Evidence-based homeopathy for dyshidrotic dermatitis: A clinical case-study

Abstract

Dyshidrotic dermatitis also known as pompholyx is a recurrent condition where there is itchy vesicular eruptions. The management of dyshidrotic dermatitis poses significant challenges due to its recurrent nature and the discomfort associated with its symptoms. This clinical case study evaluates the efficacy of an evidence-based homeopathic approach in treating a patient diagnosed with this condition. The subject, a 27-year-old Female, presented with severe pruritus, blisters, and desquamation localized predominantly to the palms and soles, significantly impacting daily activities and quality of life. Following a comprehensive assessment, a personalized homeopathic remedy was prescribed based on principles of classical homeopathy and individual symptomatology. The treatment protocol was monitored with regular follow-ups assessing symptomatology, overall well-being, and any adverse reactions. This case study suggests marked reduction in the severity of flare-up. This case study highlights the potential of homeopathy as a holistic and patient-centered approach to managing dyshidrotic dermatitis, emphasizing the need for further research in this area to consolidate these findings and refine treatment protocols.
