International Journal of Advanced Biochemistry Research · 2025 · Vol. 9(7) · pp. 212–215

Abstract

An experiment entitled “Effect of macro and micro nutrients on growth and yield of Rice bean (Vigna umbellata L.)” was conducted at College of Agriculture, Kalaburagi during Kharif 2023. The experiment was laid out in RCBD with eleven treatments and replicated thrice. The experimental results revealed that 100% RDF as basal dose + 0.5% Zinc sulphate (21%) + 0.5% Ferrous sulphate (20.1%) foliar application at 25 & 50 DAS recorded significantly higher available zinc, iron, copper and manganese content in soil (0.40, 4.32, 1.22 & 4.25 mg kg-1, respectively). Further, higher zinc concentration in seed and stover (37.55 mg kg-1 and 19.79 mg kg-1, respectively), iron concentration (102.27 mg kg-1 and 80.96 mg kg-1, respectively),copper concentration (13.58 mg kg-1 and 4.59 mg kg-1, respectively) and manganese concentration (34.19 mg kg-1 and 19.66 mg kg-1, respectively) was recorded with 100% RDF as basal dose + 0.5% Zinc sulphate (21%) + 0.5% Ferrous sulphate (20.1%) foliar application. However, zinc uptake in seed and stover (41.87 g ha-1 and 53.47 g ha-1, respectively), iron uptake (114.03 g ha-1 and 218.75 g ha-1, respectively), copper uptake (15.14g ha-1 and 12.40g ha-1, respectively) and manganese uptake (38.34g ha-1 and 53.12 g ha-1, respectively) were also recorded significantly higher with 100% RDF + 0.5% Zinc sulphate (21%) + 0.5% Ferrous sulphate (20.1%) foliar application. It was on par with 75% RDF + 0.5% Zinc sulphate (21%) + 0.5% Ferrous sulphate (20.1%).
