Abstract

Actinomycetes a connecting link between bacteria and fungi are in demand for its production of valuable antibiotics. This research work was conducted for the isolation of soil actinomycetes from soil samples collected from 3 districts of Southern Karnataka and characterized morphologically. It is also looked for the production of exudates, pigments, etc. The isolates are checked for their antagonistic effect against plant fungal pathogens by dual culture assay. The potent strains are then identified by 16s rRNA sequencing and reported accordingly.
