Effect of nitrogen management with boron application on growth of maize (Zea mays L.)
Abstract
A field experiment entitled “Effect of Integrated Nitrogen Management (INM) with Boron Application on Growth and Yield of Maize (Zea mays L.)” was conducted during the Zaid season of 2024 at the Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, Rama University, to identify the most effective treatment combination for optimizing growth, yield, and economic returns in maize. The experiment consisted of 15 treatment combinations laid out in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications, evaluating varying nitrogen sources and boron levels.The results revealed that the treatment receiving 100% recommended nitrogen dose (120 kg N/ha) through urea along with boron at 4 kg/ha (T₂) consistently performed best across all parameters. T₂ recorded the maximum plant height, dry matter accumulation.
