Effect of integrated nutrient management (INM) practices on the growth and yield performance of maize (Zea mays L.) crop

Abstract

The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of integrated nutrient management (INM) practices on the growth and yield performance of maize (Zea mays L.) crop through a series of three field experiments conducted from June to October. Based on their outcomes, a main field experiment was conducted at Rama University using treatment combinations derived from the best-performing earlier treatments. The main experiment included 11 treatments. Among the treatments, RDF 125% + vermicompost @ 5 t ha⁻¹ (T9) consistently recorded the highest values for growth parameters such as plant height, Leaf Area Index (LAI), and Dry Matter Production (DMP). The control (T1) treatment, without any nutrient application, consistently showed the lowest values across all parameters.
