Assessment of knowledge level of beneficiaries about NGOs and their programmes
Abstract
Agriculture is one of the primary occupations and main source of livelihood for rural population in India. One-third of the people in India live in poverty which is pegged at nearly 21.92 per cent. Non-Governmental Organizations have emerged as an important element of contemporary Indian society and acts as a link between grassroots and civil society. The present investigation was conducted in Shivamogga district during 2023-24. A total of 180 sample constitutes the Population. The data was collected through semi-structured interview schedule. The study intended to know the Knowledge level of beneficiaries about NGOs and programmes. The ex-post facto Research design was used for this study. The results found that majority (50.56%) of the beneficiaries had medium level of overall knowledge followed by high level of overall knowledge (30.56%) and 18.88 per cent of the beneficiaries had low level of overall knowledge.
