Effect of plant growth regulators on growth, yield and quality of pointed gourd (Trichosanthes dioica Roxb.)

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during rabi 2024-2025 at Horticulture Research Farm, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries, Rama University, Kanpur (U.P.), Kanpur. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with ten treatments each replicated thrice on the basis of one year experimentation. The treatments which are T0Control, T1GA3 50 ppm, T2GA3 75 ppm, T3GA3 100 ppm, T4NAA 100 ppm, T5NAA 150 ppm, T6NAA 200 ppm, T72,4,D 25 ppm, T82,4,D 50 ppm and T92,4,D 75 ppm are used. The results showed that application of T3GA3 100 ppm was recorded highest plant growth, yield and quality of pointed gourd as compared to other treatments. It also recorded highest gross return, net return (Rs. ha-1) and benefit cost ratio.
