Diagnostic correlates and fragility factors in a sample of multiproblematic adolescents with emotional-behavioral dysregulation

Abstract

The authors describe the clinical characteristics and diagnostic correlates of a sample of multi-problematic patients in developmental age currently in charge of a territorial service of Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry. The characteristics of the multi-problematic patient, the themes of care needs in adolescence and the construct of emotional dysregulation, which represents a trans-diagnostic substrate frequently found in these clinical populations, are outlined. The high number of patients with Mood disorder (33.82%) and anxiety disorder (19.12%), the high incidence of patients in court (67.65%) and in need of pharmacological therapy (67.65%) and the high percentage of comorbid diagnoses (61.76%) are evident. Furthermore, the presence of family conflict in 69.12% is significant.
