Impact of early post-emergence herbicides and foliar nutrition on Blackgram (Vigna mungo L.)
Abstract
Weeds pose a significant threat to blackgram productivity by competing for essential resources, especially during early stage of crop development. A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the efficiency of three post emergence (EPOE) herbicides along with foliar nutrition. Among three treatments application of EPOE application sodium acifluorfen @160 g a.i. ha-1 + clodinofob propargyl @ 80 g a.i. ha-1 on 15 DAS + Hand weeding on 30 DAS + vermiwash @ 10% on 30 and 45 DAS recorded with lowest total weed population and weed dry matter production, with highest WCE at both 30 and 60 DAS. This treatment also led to maximum grain and haulm yield. EPOE application of sodium acifluorfen @160 g a.i. ha-1 + clodinofob propargyl @ 80 g a.i. ha-1 on 15 DAS + Hand weeding on 30 DAS + Nano DAP @ 3ml/l on 30 and 45 DAS was the next best alternative. The result has been highlighted the critical importance of integrating EPOE herbicide application with timely manual intervention along with foliar nutrition to ensure effective weed control and economic suitability in blackgram cultivation.
