Abstract

Tilapia?cage culture is being considered as an important aquaculture practice in Ujani Dam, Maharashtra (India) for sustainable fish production and livelihood improvement. The paper discusses the scope, challenges and economics of tilapia cage culture in Ujani Dam with respect to water quality, cage design, feeding methods?and socio-economic aspects. The findings of the research emphasize the need for sound management practices for both?production maximization and environmental protection.
