Synergistic effects of irrigation scheduling and nanoparticles for enhancing soil moisture and physiological growth in Blackgram
Abstract
The experiment was conducted at SRM College of Agricultural Sciences, Baburayanpettai to study the irrigation levels and nanoparticles on soil moisture retention, growth and physiological parameters of black gram. The experimental design adopted was split plot with irrigation schedules based on IW/CPE ratio imposed into main plots (0.4, 0.6, 0.8). Foliar spray of nanoparticles included into the subplots (N1 - KCl of 1%, N2 - Selenium nanoparticles of 0.005%, N3 - Zinc oxide nanoparticles of 0.01% and N4 - Selenium nanoparticles of 0.005% and Zinc oxide nanoparticles of 0.01%). The result findings of the experiment, the soil moisture retention percentage was influenced by irrigation and foliar nutrients of nano particles and irrigation at 0.8 IW/CPE with zinc oxide nano particles at 30 and 45 days after sowing recorded significantly higher plant height (39.41cm), leaf area index (2.67), dry matter production (3938 kg ha-1), relative water content (95.85%) and chlorophyll stability index (95.37%) and followed by at same irrigation levels along with zinc oxide nano particles and selenium nanoparticles as foliar application.
