Influence of conservation agriculture practice on pigeonpea productivity and its impact on nutrient uptake and soil moisture

Abstract

Conservation agriculture help to preserve natural resource and boost productivity, supporting the goals of sustainable agriculture. The long term experiment on conservation agriculture conducted at KVK farm, Kalburgi, with reduced fertilizer dose. The results of the experiment indicated that the practice of zero till raised bed with crop residues retention in pigeonpea crop along with 100% recommended dose of fertilizers recorded higher stalk and seed yield, similarly uptake of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium was highest. Thus we can conclude that conservation agriculture practice of zero tillage raised bed along with crop residue retention sustain the pigeonpea productivity.
