Response of finger millet (Eleusine coracana L.) to various levels and methods of nano DAP application on growth and yield

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at KSNUAHS, Shivamogga, India during rabi 2023 to evaluate the effect of nano DAP on the growth and yield of finger millet. The experiment was laid out in RCBD with twelve treatments and replicated thrice. Various levels and methods of nano DAP treatments were evaluated, among the tested treatments application of 100 per cent recommended dose of N & P along with seed treatment of nano DAP 4 ml kg-1 of seeds at 30 DAT (T6) recorded higher plant height (95.07 cm), number of tillers (8.87), root volume at 90 and at harvest DAT (12.95 and 13.95, respectively), the yield attributes like grain yield kg ha-1 (3639.32), test weight (3.29 g), straw yield kg ha-1 (6460.86 kg ha-1), were also found significantly higher in same treatment. It also recorded higher gross returns (1,30,198 ₹ ha-1), net returns (76,602 ₹ ha-1), and B:C ratio (2.43) compared to recommended dose of fertilizers, 9.73 per cent increased grain yield was noted with nano DAP application.
