Abstract

Moringa oleifera and Murraya koenigii, both widely utilized in traditional medicine, have garnered significant attention due to their bioactive properties.Moringa oleifera, known as the "drumstick tree" is renowned for its rich nutrient profile, including vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, which contribute to its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant activities.Its leaves, seeds, and pods are frequently used to promote overall health, manage diabetes, lower blood pressure, and support immune function.Similarly, Murraya koenigii, commonly known as curry leaves, has a wide range of therapeutic uses, including its antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-cancer properties.The plant's active compounds, such as alkaloids, flavonoids, and essential oils, contribute to its potential as a natural remedy for digestive issues, metabolic disorders, and infections.This review highlights the bioactive compounds present in both plants, their pharmacological effects, and their potential applications in modern medicine, nutraceuticals, and food industry.Evidence suggests that both Moringa oleifera and Murraya koenigii possess substantial therapeutic potential, offering valuable opportunities for the development of natural, plant-based treatments in various health domains.
