Abstract

The present experiment entitled “Management of okra shoot and fruit borer Earia vitella (Fab.) by chemical insecticides on okra” was conducted during kahrif season of 2024, under the Department of Entomology, at agriculture research farm, Bundelkhand university, Jhansi. The investigation was carried with nine treatments (including control) viz Fluebendiaminde 480 SC, Profenophos 50 EC, Spinosad 45 EC, Acephate 75 SP, Idoxacarb 75 SP, Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 EC, Diafenthiuron 50 WP, Lamda cyhalothrin 5 EC and Water spray control. The experimental field was divided in 27 plot where 9 plots replicated three times, and three applications of treatments were carried out in total crop period. The data collected before and 3 days, 7 days and 14 days after spraying concluded or resulted that Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 EC was best effective to control okra shoot and fruit borer infestation followed by Fluebendiaminde 39.35% EC and Spinosad 45% SC, moreover highest yield production also found with Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 EC followed by Fluebendiaminde 39.35% EC and Spinosad 45% SC. In manner of C:B ratio highest benefit return was found with Spinosad 45% SC followed by Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 EC and Idoxacarb 14.5% SC, where Diafenthiuron 50 WP was least effective treatment among all.
