Effect of foliar application of zinc and iron on growth, quality and yield of kinnow” in sandy loam of Sri Ganganagar district in Rajasthan
Abstract
To standardize the zinc and iron requirement of Kinnow under Northern Rajasthan condition to obtain optimum plant growth with maximum fruits with best quality an experiment was carried out on 5 years old Kinnow plants growing at Agriculture Research Center-I, Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, Tantia University, Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan during 2023-24 at 5 x 5 m spacing. Sixteen treatment combinations comprising Zn and Fe in different foliar concentration were tried in Random Block Design (RBD) with three replication and using one tree as one replication. The treatment were denoted as T1-(Control), T2-(0.25% Zinc sulphate), T3-(0.5% Zinc sulphate), T4-(0.75%Zincsulphate), T5-(0.5%Ferroussulphate), T6-(0.75%Ferroussulphate), T7-(1% Ferrous sulphate), T8-(0.25% ZnSO4+0.5% FeSO4), T9-(0.25% ZnSO4+0.75% FeSO4), T10-(0.25% ZnSO4+1% FeSO4), T11-(0.5% ZnSO4+0.5% FeSO4), T12-(0.5% ZnSO4+0.75% FeSO4), T13-(0.5% ZnSO4+1% FeSO4), T14-(0.75%ZnSO4+0.5%FeSO4), T15-(0.75%ZnSO4+0.75%FeSO4), T16-(0.75% ZnSO4 + 1% FeSO4). The treatments were applied through foliar application at fruit set and peack stage of the fruit. Uniform cultural operations were followed throughout the investigation.
