Role of chilgoza nut in livelihood options and employment generation in dry temperate region of western Himalayas
Abstract
The study was conducted to evaluate the effect of dietary supplementation of different levels of zinc methionine on carcass traits, organ weights, and blood biochemical parameters of broiler chickens. A total of 240 one-day-old unsexed Cobb-500 broiler chicks were randomly distributed into four dietary treatments with four replicates of 15 birds each. The treatments included a control diet without zinc methionine supplementation (T1), and diets supplemented with zinc methionine at 50 mg/kg (T2), 100 mg/kg (T3), and 150 mg/kg (T4) of feed. The feeding trial lasted for 42 days, during which birds were raised under similar managemental and environmental conditions. At the end of the experiment, selected birds were slaughtered to assess carcass traits, relative weights of internal organs, and blood biochemical parameters such as serum total protein, albumin, globulin, cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose. The results revealed that supplementation of zinc methionine at different levels had a significant (P
